ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ELECTS NEW CAPTAIN

At the A.G.M. on December 1st, Steve Musgrave was elected  first eleven captain. He replaces Harmit Bahra who stood down after a successful three years in charge.

Steve, who now lives permanently in the village will have Chris Perry as his vice captain, whilst second eleven captain Brett Hanson is again supported by Andy Luck.

All officers were re-elected and groundsman John Hodges embarks on his 31st season tending the hallowed square

Chris Perry won the coveted Players' Player of the year award at the Annual Dinner and Presentation night at Club Diana.

His 45 premier wickets and 188 runs clinched the vote from runner-up Steve Musgrave and the trophy was presented by Kevin Innes.

Chris also won the bowling prize with Musgrave picking up the batting.

IT'S THE PREMIER AGAIN NEXT SEASON

OBJECTIVE ACHIEVED  REVIEW 2008

So despite only winning 3 games, the first eleven earned enough points to climb above both Burton and Irthlingborough and survived to fight another day. An achievement to be proud of.

The second eleven’s season was an improvement over 2007, this year finishing in third place in division three.

So with the ground never looking better and despite the occasional appalling weather  the  season should be considered a success, and hopefully one to build on in 2009.
