BRETT HANSON
Right Hand Bat
Second team
captain, star of the stage, businessman, local celebrity, coffee shop magnate,
swashbuckling batsman, electrician, chocolate expert, hard working fixture
secretary and singing sensation are all terms that could be (but some probably
won’t be) used to describe Brett Hanson. After taking over the captaincy from
Darren Laughton in 2006, Brett has done a great job of maintaining our division
3 status and building a platform from which we can push on towards the top of
the table in the future. He is also one of our most consistent batsmen having
weighed in with well over four thousand second team runs to go with the thirteen
hundred he has scored for the firsts.
He joined the Club as a thirteen year old and became the
regular First Eleven scorer before working his way through the junior ranks to
senior level. He is the present Fixture Secretary and away from cricket excels
on the local stage where his bass tenor voice is highly thought of around
Northamptonshire and beyond.
He learnt to sew in his late teens,
closed an orifice and his
cricket has never looked back!
He has scored over 4,000 Second Eleven runs and is the
presently holds the Second Eleven record of 669 for most runs in a season
(2002).
