SIMON DRIVER

NEXT

Simon learned his cricket as a junior at both Wollaston and the NCA before making his senior debut for our Second Eleven in 1994. He progressed quickly and soon made the transition up the the Firsts.         As a genuine all-rounder Simon can perform both aspects of the game well and his junior goal-keeping training obviously paid off giving him a safe pair of hands and excellent ground fielding skills. In most games he bats at 5 or 6 and takes the new ball -  producing some match-winning  performances.      He joined the ‘Best  All Rounders’  list  2006 with 253 runs and 20 wickets  and was one wicket short of going on the list again in 2007. Not a fussy eater.

1998

Partridge Young Player of the Year. A top score of 37 not out against an inspired Isham and an excellent 32 in difficult conditions at Rothwell helped Simon to a total of 210  First  Xl runs at an average of 16.15.

15 wickets complemented a similar average in the Millman at 23.6 each and hopefully his aggressive bowling will reap the same rewards in the County League before long.

Again it is pleasing to see another erstwhile member of our youth squad make an impact at senior level.
