Mark Carter's 65 proves too much for East Haddon

East Haddon 167 for 8 in 40 overs - Wollaston's Sunday Xl 168 for 4 in 32 overs

Wollaston's Sunday Eleven dodged the showers to emerge victorious over a young and talented East Haddon side.

The home side set a reasonable target of 168 in 40 overs but with Mark Carter on top form it was never enough, and eventually the all-rounder retired with his wicket intact for an entertaining 65.

Mark Ralph plundered 46 and Mike Duddle made a cultured 29 not out to take Wollaston to victory - with eight overs and six wickets to spare.

Earlier, the home side's total was restricted by regular falling wickets, and with Liam Bates making life difficult for Haddon with his well flighted off-breaks the game was always under Wollaston's control.

Wollaston find winning ways to beat Irthlingborough

At last Wollaston put together a good performance and came out winners against fellow Premier Division battlers Irthlingborough Town in the Board 20 Knock-out Cup.

The Town batted first but their danger men Madan and Trott were kept in check and were eventually dismissed by leg-spinner Andy Luck. The impressive bowling display by the villagers restricted Irthlingborough to  a very modest 110

In reply Liam Bates (37) and Mark Ralph (32) were back to form and together took Wollaston to an impressive win.
